Grandma's Dishpan Cookies

This recipe was sent from rachaelray.com visitor, Marlene Fischer. She tells us that these are "Simple cookies when you need a large batch for a big group. Grandma called these dish pan cookies because she used a granite dish pan to stir them up in because it made such a large batch. A great mixture of several different ingredients that is sure to please everyone."

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1 cup shortening

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 cups brown sugar

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda

  • 1 tablespoons baking powder

  • 2 3/4 cup flour

  • 4 cups Quick Oats

  • 4 cups Corn Flakes

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts

  • 1 cup coconut

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

Cream together the first 4 ingredients.

Cream brown sugar, white sugar, baking powder, baking soda and flour. Mix until creamy.

Stir in oats, corn flakes, salt, chopped nuts and coconut. Mix well.

Drop by teaspoonful on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
